Jabber move to mobile

Hi, this is a sort guide on how to setup move to mobile.
This feature is available only for Android and iOS Jabber, not for Windows etc.

First create a Mobility Profile, Call Routing -> Mobility -> Mobility Profile.

This is a global setting.

Go to end user and assign mobility for the user needed

Then go to device configuration and make sure for the following

  1. Assign a softkey template that has Mobility key assigned on "On Hook" and "Connected", Create on if needed.
  2. Assign the English United States on User Locale (Required as stated)
  3. Assign an Owner ID and Mobility user ID
  4. Assign a CSS that allows you to reach the mobile number on "Rerouting Calling Search Space"
  5. On "Transfer to Mobile Network" select "Use Mobility softkey (user Receives Call)"
  6. On "Dial via Office" select Enable
  7. On "Associated Mobility Identity" create a new mobility as follows

Apply configuration and logoff - login from mobile jabber and test.

Windows 10 Internet Active Probing

After some research it appears a similar issue to this occurred with Windows 8. I never had this issue during my roll out of Windows 8 but the resolution appears to work for Windows 10 1607 as well. At this stage I don’t know if making this change causes any unforeseen problems, but I’ll add to this post if I see anything.
Here’s how to prevent it. Using the registry editor, navigate to the location below, and change the “1” (enabled) to a “0” (disabled).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet\EnableActiveProbing

Cisco 8832 phone not connecting, no IP, no CDP, no MAC

There is an issue with specific firmware for Cisco 8832 phones.
The phone comes with 12.0.xxxSR3 or something like that, and it connects to switch but it doesn't appear in CDP neighbors.
If you use the 12.0.xxxx (No SR version) in CUCM, then the phone can't connect and doesn't appear anywhere in the switch (even in MAC address table), at this state shows can't get any IP etc.

You have to use 12.1xxx firmware for this phone to operate properly.

To recover from the situation and upgrade to 12.1 you have to do the following

  1. Unplug the phone
  2. Wait for 10 seconds
  3. Hold the * (asterisk) key while plugging the phone back
  4. When the LED light turns off release the * and type 123456789*0#
The phone should boot with 12.0.xxxxSR version and it would get an IP so you can upgrade it to 12.1 and from there it would operate normally.
